Set up Weatherlink software for IP data logger

Install the IP data logger in the LCD monitor

Download Weatherlink software

  1.      Insert the CD into a drive on your computer and follow the instructions.
  2. First the software checks your Windows and will probably want to install some Windows components. Confirm this with INSTALL.


  3. Then Weatherlink is installed. Click on NEXT



  4. Accept the software terms of use (I agree) and click NEXT



  5. This is a critical point of the Weatherlink installation. If you already have an old Weatherlink software version on your PC, please use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check in which directory the old Weatherlink version is located. Two folders are possible: c: / Programs / Weatherlink or c: / Weahterlink /. Click on BROWSE and select the existing folder. Then click on NEXT.



  6. The software will now be installed. When the installation is complete, the "Installation complete" window is displayed. Click on CLOSE
  7. Now start the Weatherlink software by double-clicking the Weatherlink icon on your desktop. (The current version is displayed under the symbol Weatherlink 5.9.3 exe. You should put the old link in the trash to avoid confusion later.
  8. You will now be asked whether you want to create a new station. Do this only if you installed the software for the first time. Otherwise, select the old station and click on NO.





  9. At a new station you will now be asked whether you want to do the "walkthrough" - query all settings. Click on YES. For a software update, you can find the walkthrough under Settings> Walktrough.



  10. Click on YES



  11. Choose Rain Collector 0.2mm. Make a check in Leaf Wettness 1 and 2 and Leaf Temperature 1 and 2. If you have connected soil moisture sensors, activate the corresponding boxes.



  12. Click on OK



  13. Here the new connection is established via the network to the LCD monitor. Select the field TCP / IP under Communications and the field Local Device ID under TCO / IP Connection. Click the FIND button to the right of it.



  14. If the weather station has been recognized, a success message is now displayed with the MAC address. Click OK and then click OK again.



  15. Click on OK



  16. Select the units and confirm with OK.



  17. Click on OK



  18. Mark your station and click on ADD. Then click DOWNLOAD AT then CHOOSE ALL. Close with OK and then again with OK.

  19. Click on OK



  20. The radio channels on which the station is received are set here. Normal is ISS on channel 1 and Leaf on channel 2. Only when using a repeater If a repeater is used, this must also be set. Normally repeater A would be for this click in the square Enable Repeaters and set the repeater behind the channels.



  21. Click on OK



  22. Enter the height above sea level at which the weather station is located. (Not relevant to fruitweb)



  23. Click on OK



  24. Click on YES



  25. If you want to correct the temperature values, you can enter a correction factor here. However, you should only do this if you have calibrated reference measuring instruments available. To skip this step click on SKIP.



  26. Click on OK



  27. Here you can enter the annual precipitation up to the current day so that the annual precipitation amount is correctly displayed and further calculated. (not relevant to fruitweb)

  28. Click on OK



  29. The current time on the LCD monitor is corrected here. Important: Click on Auto detect for Daylight Savings (summer / winter time)



  30. Set the archive interval to 30 min.



  31. Click NO (do not delete data).



  32. Click on OK



  33. For the correct display of the sunrise and sunset time you have to enter the position of the weather station here. You can find your length and width at www.getlatlon.com. Enter your address under "Place name". Click on ZOOM TO PLACE and then copy the values Latitude and Longitude into the Weatherlink.



  34. Click on OK



  35. Here you can set up wind direction and the wind turbine (Large)



  36. If you can set an alarm (e.g. frost alarm), click on OK, otherwise on SKIP.



  37. Enter your alarm values here.



  38. Finished!! setup of the station is now complete. Click NO if you want to complete the walkthrough or YES if you want to start over.
