The Pronamic Rain-O-Matic rain gauge is manually calibrated at the factory. If you have the impression that the amount of rain is no longer precisely recorded, please proceed as follows.
- Check whether the rain gauge is installed absolutely horizontally and is not in the rain shadow of the fastening rod (facing west), a tree or a building
- Clean the rain gauge
- Check the measure: Measure exactly 500 cm³ of water. This is best done with a digital kitchen scale. Let the water run into the rain gauge for 30 minutes. Make sure that the water flows in evenly.
If these steps do not improve, you can recalibrate the rain gauge as follows:
- Use a hex key to adjust the screw underneath the tilting spoon. If the screw is turned clockwise, the measured values are increased. If the screw is turned counterclockwise, the measured values are reduced.
- After setting, test the rain gauge again as described under 3. above. Adjust the setting again if necessary.
