The right location for a weather station

A weather station should be placed as freely as possible on a meadow area. Ideally, all components should be attached to an iron rod.

The following aspects should be considered when choosing a location:

  1. There should be no large yard or water areas in the immediate vicinity, as these can significantly change the microclimate
  2. The station should not be in the rain shadow of a larger building
  3. In the orchard, the sensors and the transmission technology are exposed to the pesticides. This can lead to damage, especially with aggressive agents, and significantly reduce the life of the plant. We therefore recommend to place the station on a free area (e.g. larger headlands).
